David Sheffield is a former Saturday Night Live skit writer who wrote back in the SNL days of Eddie Murphy. Sheffield went on to screen write for Murphy on Coming to America and The Nutty Professor. Now he has written a play called The Heartbreak Henry that recounts his experiences as a night manager of a flophouse in Oxford in 1967. The play will be performed at the Claude Gentry Theatre August 11-13 and August 20, 2022.
