This week Melinda sits down with New Albany School District superintendent, Dr. Lance Evans. Dr. Evans is the newly hired superintendent of education for the state of Mississippi. Pending his legislative appointment expected to occur later in the legislative session, Dr. Evans will take office July 1. This is part one of a two part interview.
Dr. Lance Evans is the superintendent of the New Albany School District. Late in 2023, Dr. Evans was hired by the Mississippi Department of Education to become Superintendent of Schools for the state of Mississippi. In the state of Mississippi, must not only be hired by MDE but must also be approved by the legislature. If approved, Dr. Evans will assume command of the department on July 1. Melinda sat down with Dr. Evans to discuss his successes in New Albany and his plans for Mississippi's schools. Part 2 of this interview will be aired on March 19.
